Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) Assistance

This is a program that works with military and civilian agencies to provide inclusive and coordinated community assistance, housing, educational, medical, and personnel services to military families with special needs. Service members enroll in the program when they have a Family member with a physical, emotional, developmental, or intellectual disorder requiring specialized services so their needs can be considered in the military personnel assignment process. The overall goal is to help Families accompany the Service member to the right duty locations, not to exclude them. Some special needs families choose to stay at their previous location and allow the service member to travel alone to the new assignment.
